The most important function in a Slavic family is the wedding meeting, which is frequently celebrated in spring, summer or autumn. It was a time for celebration and joy, as it marked the beginning of the new lifestyle. Military married after successful activities, fishermen held their ceremonies after a good catch and shepherds tied the knot after the calving time.

Before the wedding ceremony, the bride is usually given a rushnyk ( a crown with a cross). Her parents provide her with bread and salt and beg for their gift. They also give the couple ektenias ( a ring ) that symbolizes a slavic marriage and a promise of faithfulness and fidelity. The bride wears a mask, which she never takes off, except to go to the restroom. It was considered a bad sign to taking off the mask during the festival, and in old times it was customary to punish a wedding who did so.

After the service the brides walk through the streets of the town, with folks throwing seeds of rice, sweets and currencies for happiness and prosperity. They also quit at regional memorials and provide memorial. The wedding ceremony is supervised by a master of ceremonies called a” Tamada”. He is a loud buddy who runs the several events.

When the wedding leaves her parents ‘ home, she takes with her a jacket that she should retain, not to give away or permit somebody touch. The vicar’s relatives tested the wife by asking her questions and requesting liquid from her. If they placed money on a box, the wife do offer them fluids or answers their questions.
